It was shown simultaneously around the world last night.
Saw the showing of this movie last night, Nov. 5, 2003 10PM at Robinsons Movieworld.
Many reviewers who saw it in advance said it wasn’t that good. I just had to see it for myself.
Bluntly, the ending was quite disappointing. I expected more. Just like all the people who watched the first showing last night, I wanted more from the movie.
There were dragging parts. I guess they just gave it a romantic tone. There was a moment in the movie that I felt I dozed off. I believed it was the “…you gave me a second chance to tell you how much I care for you…” scene.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed the other parts of the movie like the escape scene. The crashes and all. The effort of getting into Zion, killing a lot of Sentinels and getting reprimanded for it was quite ironic and funny.
I came for some action. And with that, I wasn’t disappointed. I enjoyed the Mecha Scenes. They showed that the Mechas were really heavy and just raising the arms meant giving all your strength on your arms. The Mechas needing reloading was great. It wasn’t something like a Desperado movie where Antonio Banderas never needed to reload his guns.
And although the fight scene between Neo and Agent Smith was great, I felt it came from out of this anime, Dragon Ball Z. They were flying all around hitting each other like there wasn’t any physics involved. Okay I will try to accept that since they are in a “matrix”. Still I wanted something believable. The impact craters and explosions were nicely done. I guess the acoustics of the movie house also helped. I did feel/hear every kick and punch they got.
All in all, I had fun watching the movie. I could say it was worth the wait. And Robinsons Movieworld understood that people would be more happy to get inside the theater and wait for the movie there instead of standing up in line. We did wait in line but only for a few minutes.
I hope I didn’t give too much info about the movie. You just have to watch it for yourselves.
Matrix Revolutions… worth watching and having your own dvd copy. I wish they could release the dvd as soon as possible.
