Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time

Just finished playing the whole game of Price Of Persia: Sands Of Time. I just can’t stop playing it. Every scene in the game entices you to continue. Even the hard levels are exciting. There are places where you really have think first before acting. These are the puzzle levels like the cave and stalactites.

You have the power to reverse time. This allows you to “escape” death. The catch though is that you have limited chances to do this. One, you have to kill enough enemies to collect sand to fill your time dagger. Second, as you absorb sand from enemies, your reverse time goes back to zero. So if you absorb sand from an enemy and another enemy kills you, you might not have enough reverse time to live again. This is where skill comes in. Killing an enemy and absorbing the sand within is not that easy as other enemies may surround you.

At last, I got the ending and now understood what all the images and the story is telling me. Everything is a flashback or in this game… a time reversal.

Graphics: I like the graphics so much. It makes me feel I’m really in the palace grounds. The detail on every object is remarkable. As you have the option to change camera views, you can really see the effort given in the graphic details of the game.

Audio: The music is also worth noting. It blends well with the game and the interaction that you encounter. It gives you an insight of the type of enemy that might be lurking around the corner. The stronger the enemy the more dramatic the music becomes. The sound effects of metal on metal and other objects hitting each other is also realistic.

Controls: The learning curve is only a matter of a few minutes. Hints are given during the start and as you progress in the game. The camera angles sometimes just gets in the way of the controls. The good thing is you have the option to change different camera views quickly. You would think this is a button-mashing game, but it’s not… different combinations of the surroundings help you in your fights. An example of this is you can use walls to jump from and hit your enemies. You can also use your enemies as a horse vault to jump over and hit them from behind. Oh yeah, you can also run on walls which allow you to avoid pitfalls and other puzzles.

Gameplay: I enjoyed this game very much. The fight scenes and the puzzle levels blend in well that you won’t notice it at first. This is important in terms of gameplay as it avoids from becoming a repetitious game. As one level ends, you would want the other levels. This is one of those games you would want to keep on playing.

Overall: Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time is a best buy and a must have game. This would also be a great Christmas gift to all ages. Parents would be reminded of the old side-scrolling Prince Of Persia and how it has improved. And kids would appreciate the detail and the gameplay it provides. Get your own copy and enjoy the Prince of Persia: Sands Of Time.
