I’ve been hearing AJAX from web developers. I suddenly became curious as to what it is. I’ve read a lot of reviews, tutorials, etc. but they all just made me more confused. After much searching, I found this website, Adaptive Path, that discussed AJAX in simple terms.
Jesse James Garrett wrote, Ajax: A New Approach to Web Applications. He explained the difference of AJAX to the classic web application model complete with diagrams.
Although I really don’t know much about AJAX yet, but Jesse was able to make me understand how web applications like Gmail could show me my mail without making me wait through a blank loading page. :D It’s really that simple but it lessens the visitor’s waiting time.
Time will determine if AJAX will really change the way web applications are made.
