My colleagues in Ericsson and I bought new guns… The Jing Gong (JG) M4 S-System!
The estimated out-of-the-box FPS is 415-420FPS. When my colleagues did a chrono on their newly bought guns, it registered 418FPS on average while some guns even went up to 480FPS.
I wasn’t able to chrono my own gun since I was in a hurry to leave. But they estimated mine to be roughly around 418FPS as well.
I did some target shooting on the rooftop of my pad and I was really surprised. The sound was similar to high-end AEGs (Automatic Electric Guns).
The trajectory was not impressive at first rounds of bullets. It was scattered with BBs flying all around. However, after several rounds (Approx. 800 bullets) and a few adjustments on the hop-up, the trajectory and target spread became quite impressive. It had around 3-4 inches diameter target spread on a 20~25 meters distance. This was quite normal for new AEGs as the hop-up and the silicone oil was also adjusting.
This gun is so much heavier than my trusty Jing Gong (JG) A47-Beta Spetsnaz (Ak-47). The M4 S-System has metal rail system as part of stock.
I like the M4 S-System for our usual Jungle Scenarios. However, for CQB scenarios, I won’t be able to use the M4 S-System as it might fail the bottom-can test and bore a hole on the can. I will need to use my Spetsnaz. It only dents the bottom of the soda can.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with my new M4 S-System. However, I’ll update this post once I get to use it in combat this Saturday.

My M4 S-System now has a vertical grip, Brons Red Laser and a Bushnell Illuminated Scope. I also upgraded the stock barrel to a more efficient custom tight barrel. I changed the stock battery to a 11.1V Li-poly Battery.
The M4 S-System is very reliable in any situation. Although most people believe it’s not very effective in CQB, it has helped me numerous times during CQB missions. There were several times when I would be the last man standing and I would defend the fort with the M4 S-System. I would pinch enemies here and there until my ammo runs out.
JG has definitely made a very cost-efficient gun.

i’m not kidding, i did a chrono on my gun on one of our games and at a few times it clocked at 419FPS. but the average was 415FPS. then i checked my barrel and it was already dirty. i haven’t had any time to clean the barrel yet. but just think how much faster it would be if the barrel was clean.

my officemates upgraded some of their M4s by changing the spring to SP150 or SP170. You also need to change 1) the plastic bushings to metal bushings and 2) apply metal shims.
now some people upgrade the piston body as well. but you might want to try to upgrade the spring, bushings, shims first. these three come in hand. don’t change the spring without changing the bushings and adding shims. although some would say it’s ok not to. but it’s highly recommended that you do.

i have bought a JG m4 s system, same as yours but the trajectory of the bullet is too low… I tried to adjust it using the pin that was inside the box, but it wont turn for adjustments… You have any idea how to change it?

you need to adjust the hop-up. you can find this knob on the right side of the rifle when you pull the lever below the rear sight. you can do a trial-and-error adjustment on that knob.

Jing Gong (JG) is the brand to watch out for right now. They are making guns that are comparable to Classic Army and Tokyo Marui. That is without the $$$ amount that you usually pay for them and they are much more powerful right out of the box than any of those. I was able to get roughly 418fps as well out of the box on my M4 S-System. I also noticed that people are wondering about where to get the guns, so I wanted to let you guys know that we are getting a shipment of this gun later on this week so if your interested, feel free to email me. Let em tell you about the JG’s. They are excellent right out of the box and if you’re into upgrading like I am, the prices can’t be beat. Also, if anyone has heard of Echo1 (a AEG rebrander here in the States), JG manufactures all their M4 and M16 variants. Echo1 puts them in a pretty box and gives a warranty and tech support.
I started by buying an Echo1 M4-A1. Standard, nothing fancy. It’s a real sleeper. First off, they are pre-upgraded. Mine came from Echo1 with a Tokyo Marui 1000 motor in it, Classic Army gears and a tight-bore barrel. The rate of fire is higher than average but the accuracy and speed is superb. 360 fps out of the box. Many claim the JG’s/Echo1’s come standard with an M-100 spring, but I have been unable to verify that since the spring has no markings on it. I believe much of the power comes from the fact that they use irregular pitch springs which centers the power of the spring’s mass on the piston.
The Jing Gong branded M-series AEG’s are just as pleasing.

Upgrading with -
Hurricane piston, cylinder and piston head
Hurricane M-120 spring, metal shims and stainless steel bushings.
They already use a semi-tight bore barrel which is 6.03 inches in diameter.

Lloyd, I also ordered the jg s-system (from ebay) and in the discription it says v3 gearbox. I emailed the seller (who is a retailer) and he said he would contact the company asking them whether or not its a mistake, or for real. I am hoping that it is a v3 gearbox, but what are the differences between the v2 and v3 gearboxes, and how will i know which one i got from looking at my gun?

I highly doubt that there is a Version 3 mech box in the JG S-System. One way to tell is to remove the heat sink off the bottom of the motor grip. If the motor grip is NOT encased in a metal frame, then it is a Version 2. The biggest difference between the two are that the Version 3 has a higher rate of fire right out of the box and the motor is held in directly to the mech box by an integrated frame.

Well, my JG S-System upgrade is complete. The stock rifle was a great performer. When I got it, I immediately lubed everything up and let it rip. After I got the hop-up set the S.I.R. was hitting in 6 inch groups at 25 yards (20 meters). Gun fired in the 395 fps range.
Then the upgrade was installed:
Hurricane M120 kit
Stock tight bore barrel was kept
Stock hop-up was kept
Installed a Madbull Shark bucking
Stock 8.4 volt 1200mAh battery
The gun now fires at 410 - 418 fps
Grouping at 25 yards were:
Semi Auto - 3 inches
Full Auto - 5 inches
Full Auto fired in bursts - 4, 5, 7, 4, 5 inches, respectively.
I will keep you updated as I intend to test with a 9.6 volt battery and put a Madbull tight bore barrel.

sniper_004..probably you haven’t adjusted the hop-up yet.. try adjusting it to hop up(clock-wise) until you achieve the farthest horizontal BB flight.. if BB’s go flying upwards turn hop up slightly to normal)Counter clock-wise) until BB’s fly horizontally.. from there no BB’s should fall out tfrom he barrel.. S-system’s the best!!!

the M4 s seems to be heavy and long, hard for mobility when in combat tournament. this equipment chronoed at 375 at the third rate, all my thought that this JG m4 s is 420, and how come it registered only at 375? I am so dissatisfied and dissapointed with it
i have my JG M4 S-System out-of-the-box at 440 fps max…420 ave…it is quite heavy for CQB… i’m amazed by its accuracy and reliabilty…it is more accurate with a scope…i recommend buying it, it’s worth ur money…JG is the Tokyo Marui in China…I suggest you play it first before upgrading it…
