Prior to the movie, Iron Man 2, I went to Media Markt WestEnd Mall to buy Sennheiser PX 10. Although my previous Sennheiser CX 300-II is still working flawlessly, my ears are starting to hurt. When I leave the house, I put it on. When I reach the office, I transfer it to my laptop where I wear it the whole day. When leaving the office, I put it on my iPhone. So you see, it’s not really good for me to have something inside my ear canal almost the whole day.

The Sennheiser PX 10 is really good. It doesn’t go deep into my ear canal. It actually just rests just outside my ear. A lot of people said the sound quality is not at par with other Sennheisers. I disagree. The quality is good for it’s purpose and specs. I compared it with my CX 300-II and I don’t really notice the difference. Now if you’re an audiophile and could hear the minuscule sound differences, then why are you using a cheap Sennheiser? This is for those who want a cheap alternative to their in-ear monitor.

In the evening, I met up with the guys (Artemio, Aziz, Ahlaa, et al.) to watch Iron Man 2 at MOM Park. It was awesome!!! Scarlett Johansson was HOT!!! I fell in love with her the first time I saw her in “Lost In Translation”. I love her more now! I also liked the portable suit. I’d like to have one of those. Some people liked the first one but for me, I liked this one because there were more people/characters involved. It was a great movie.

Yeah, I obviously forgot to have a photo of the day with my friends… especially on the 100th day of my Project 365. Oh well, the important thing, I spent time with them.

Recently, I went to Media Markt in West End Mall and bought a Sennheiser CX 300-II Precision Black for my Apple iPhone 3GS. This is my simple personal review about this pair of earphones. I’m not an expert in these things. I just hope it could help you with how to decide when getting your own earphones.

Okay, for some background first. I bought a new pair of earphones because my favorite Philips earphones just keeps on breaking down on me. It never lasts a year for me. First, I bought the Philips SHE 7750 (with the extension cord). After half a year, the rubber sealing the earphones and producing the nice bass expanded/stretched and fell off. So I bought another Philips SHE 7750. Again, the rubber seal fell off. When I got to Budapest, Hungary, I bought the Philips SHE 7850. This one has in-line volume control. I was very happy with it already when the rubber again fell off after seven months. I couldn’t find it anywhere. :ponder:

The reason I buy Philips earphones is because of the frequency range, 8Hz – 24,000Hz. I’m a bass person (I also play bass guitar in my band, Vodka Cherry) and I like the bass range of Philips.

At first I was hesitant in buying Sennheiser because I saw another Philips with the better frequency range. But I decided I’m fed up with the rubber problems of Philips. Now I was also
thinking of buying AKG K330. They are of the same price as the Sennheiser. But a colleague of mine has AKG and I wasn’t impressed with it.
